Mission
Implementing all available means to create awareness, sensitization, education and mobilization of masses. So to bring all at the same understanding level that is critical to the situation of Nature and Environment today. This critical understanding should bring them all to contribute towards the organization's mission.
The public can be made to realize the importance and relevance of wildlife to their historical cultural context. Creating awareness through media motivating and ultimately mobilizing people to protect and promote wildlife shall remain central to the mission of the organization.
Goal
Saving wildlife and nature through mass awareness and general public motivation.
Objectives & Activities
- Educate people through documentaries to make them understand the essentials of saving Wildlife and Nature.
- To promote Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development in Pakistan that is home to an incredible variety of biodiversity. This promotion will be raising environmental awareness and initiating a 'green culture' among the public. SWAN's focus is in Pakistan, but our horizon is Global.
- Invite young people to understand the importance of Flora and Fauna by organizing village associations, trips, public meetings, school intervention programs, replanting programs, etc. for environmental protection.
- To raise public environmental awareness and involvement of the public and especially youngsters, in environmental protection and the adoption of simple daily habits like household waste recycling and organic waste composting, energy conservation and 'green' building and to undertake activities and initiatives that save Wildlife and nature.
- Exchange environment pollution related information/views with experts in Government and Non-Govt. organizations.
- Organize and participate in National and International Seminars, Conferences and Symposiums.
- Foster open dialogue with concerned persons, community officials and government representatives to bring about changes through behavioral adaptations, policy and legislation.
- To encourage people to save "Biodiversity of Pakistan" by adopting appropriate techniques.
- Undertake all other measures necessary to protect, Save and Conserve Wildlife Species of Pakistan.
- Addressing threats to the Natural Environment in general and Flora and Fauna in particular and extending help in reversing its degradation.
- Providing Consultation and Assistance for formulation and Implementation of relevant Policies regarding our mission to Save Wildlife & Nature.
- Education and Research on Flora and fauna through our College drives and Nature Reserve Tours.
- Extending help towards the establishment and management of Parks Reserves.
- Promoting Sustainable approaches to use of renewable natural resources.
- Holding Seminars, Conferences and workshops to help mobilize professionals and general public towards the understanding of preserving Nature and helping Wildlife in Pakistan.
- Production of Documentaries and other short films on different issues related to the unseen and unheard hidden treasures of Nature and Wildlife in Pakistan.
